EN 397:2012 Compression Testing Industrial Safety Helmets
The compression testing of safety helmets is important in quantifying the protective capacity of the product. EN 397 specifies the physical and performance requirements, methods of test, and marking requirements for industrial safety helmets for general use in industry. Industrial safety helmets are intended primarily to provide protection to the wearer against falling objects and consequential brain injuries and/or skull fractures.
